With the arrival of autumn, the Selva de Irati in the Navarre Pyrenees transforms into a spectacular display of colors. This “magical forest” changes with the seasons: fluorescent green in summer, snow-white in winter, and a mix of ochres, golds, and reds in autumn. As the second-largest beech-fir forest in Europe, covering over 17,000 hectares, it offers dreamlike landscapes with rivers, waterfalls, and impressive hanging bridges. The Aezkoa and Salazar valleys host three natural reserves—Lizardoia, Mendilatz, and Tristuibartea—where visitors can enjoy unique hiking trails through these enchanting valleys.
