Multilingual Theatre: Theatre Beyond Borders

Teatro sin fronteras is an immersive theatre workshop in foreign languages, blending acting, games, and cultural exchange. Participants practice languages in a fun, dynamic environment while exploring self-expression, building confidence, and enhancing communication skills. The workshop creatively engages with the experiences of expats and travelers, delving into themes of belonging, adaptation, and migration through collaborative exercises and storytelling. Participants also explore empathy and cultural understanding by performing scenes inspired by real-life experiences. These universal themes, full of emotion and humanity, are central to the company’s acclaimed production Babel’s Choir, giving the workshop a direct connection to professional theatre practice.

Barbe à Papa Teatro brings stories to life across borders! Born in Italy and also rooted in Valencia, the company unites passionate actors and theatre educators with international experience. From award-winning shows to dynamic workshops and inspiring talks, we’ve shared our work on international stages in Italy, Spain, France, and Tunisia—always with the same goal: to connect, inspire, and celebrate the power of theatre.

After the workshop, stay a while at Artea LAB to relax, enjoy a drink, and exchange thoughts, impressions, and stories with fellow participants. A perfect way to keep the conversation—and the creativity—flowing!

Goals:

• Encouraging linguistic and cultural exchange through theatre—engaging activities, games, improvisations, and readings.
• To create an opportunity for participants to practice languages in a lively, creative, non-academic setting
