Expats Valencia started as a branch of Valencia Language Exchange, one of Europe’s largest language exchange groups, founded in 2008. Over the years, our 20,000 members had countless questions, offers, and requests for help navigating life in Valencia. In 2018, a VLE member had the idea to create a Facebook group where people could ask questions and support each other, forming a strong, reliable network. Since then, the group has grown to over 70,000 members, providing fast answers and a welcoming community for anyone living in or moving to Valencia.
This is where our website steps in. We wanted to take the connections and friendships that began online and give them a life beyond the screen. Our goal is to create opportunities for expats and locals to meet, interact, and build meaningful relationships in real life. By organizing events, sharing experiences, and fostering a supportive community, we aim to make it easier for people to feel at home in Valencia and turn virtual connections into lasting, real-world friendships.
