Altea is often considered the most beautiful town on the Costa Blanca, a true Mediterranean paradise that enchants visitors with its whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, and breathtaking sea views. Nestled on a hillside, Altea’s old town is a picturesque labyrinth of narrow alleys, stone staircases, and charming plazas, all adorned with colorful flowers and traditional ceramics.
The heart of the town is the Plaza de la Iglesia, home to the iconic Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, easily recognizable by its stunning blue and white-tiled dome. From here, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean coastline. Altea is also known as a hub for artists and creatives, inspiring painters and writers with its unique charm and bohemian atmosphere.
Beyond the town’s cultural and historical beauty, Altea boasts beautiful beaches where visitors can relax under the sun or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. The town’s restaurants and tapas bars offer an authentic taste of Spanish cuisine, making it a perfect destination for food lovers.
Calpe is another jewel of the Costa Blanca, a town where history, nature, and modern tourism blend seamlessly. Originally a small fishing village, Calpe has grown into a popular tourist destination without losing its traditional charm. The town is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and Rock of Ifach (Peñón de Ifach), a massive limestone rock that rises 332 meters above the sea and dominates the coastline. This natural park is a haven for hikers and nature lovers, offering spectacular views from its summit.
Calpe’s old town is rich in history, with remnants of Iberian, Roman, and Moorish influences. Visitors can stroll through its colorful streets, admire the historic walls, and visit sites like the Iglesia Antigua (Old Church). The town’s fishing port remains one of its most vibrant spots, where visitors can enjoy fresh seafood at the local restaurants.
With its mix of natural wonders, cultural heritage, and modern amenities, Calpe is an ideal destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure on the Costa Blanca.
