Alcoi & Bocairent
Alcoy is a university city, located in the Valencian Community and the Serpis river crosses the municipal boundary of the city. Alcoy is well-known for its long history and its fantastic Moors and Christians festival. Its bridges and its status as an industrial pioneer in the Valencian Community are the features that define the city.
Fun fact: Alcoi is also the hometown of the Serpis olives, which is a very famous tapas.
Once we come to Bocairent you will be amazed by this fortress made up of its historical centre. Unique streets and houses will bring you back to medival times, the Arabic style with climbs, stairways, turnings, little squares… The “Old Town” is recognised as an artistic-historical heritage site and one of the reasons why people should visit it. Another way to get close to the history of this place is to visit museums and monuments, such as the Place de Bous that is carved in rocks and reminds us of the old Roman amphitheatres.
Food and drinks: You can bring your own food from home or eat at a restaurant there, but we usually recommend to bring your own to be more flexible
Clothes: Wear comfortable shoes because we will walk a lot, and don’t forget home your jacket because during the evening it can be cold
