Cala de Granadella

Cala de Granadella

This time we are going to take you to a beautiful gravel beach located in the province of Alicante, in the southernmost area of Xàbia. It is also considered one of the treasures of Xàbia and has been voted two years in a row as the best beach in Spain by a contest held by Antena 3. In this Paradise you can explore the area or dive into the famous crystal clear waters for a refreshing swim and enjoy various sporting activities like snorkelling. In fact, Cala Granadilla is famous for its beautiful seabed and transparent waters that offer unforgettable diving experiences (it has been awarded a blue flag since 1987).

Sports enthusiasts can also try hiking to the Mirador El cabo de la Nao, one of the most magical and evocative places in La Cala. From here it will be possible to admire the whole bay and the splendid Mediterranean landscape: an unmissable and unique place. In addition, the area offers several climbing routes, such as the one of medium difficulty to reach the Granadella castle, a small fortification whose origins date back to the 18th century.

Description of the hiking trail:

Very nice route with spectacular scenery along the cliffs of the beach of La Granadella. It is a moderate difficulty hike with some rocky slopes. The hike ends at the castle of Granadella which is a fortification from the 18th century.
Distance: 4,5km (circular route).
Elevation gain: 300 meters.
Difficulty: medium (trail equipped with chains when necessary. Footwear, water and sun protection are required due to the high temperatures).
