Enjoying a beautiful hiking tour on the weekend is always a good idea. So join us this weekend on our hiking trip to the Castillo de Castro!
This track will definitely impress you. It will start in Alfondeguilla, we will pass through the Fonteta ravine (Barranco de la Fonteta) on our way to the castle and walk through a wonderful cork oak forest.
The Castillo de Castro, also known as Castrillo de Alfondeguilla due to its Arab origin, is located at an altitude of 787 metres, which is why it has also been used by the romans as a watchtower. 
The track will take us about 2 hours and we will reward us with arriving at the castle. To get there, we will take the PR 138.

Cuevas de San José (Caves of San José)

The cuevas de San José are definitely worth a visit. You will go by boat and explore mystical caves full of stalactites and stalagmites plus ancient cave drawings! The underground river of San José is considered to be the longest European navigable underground river, with a length of approx 2.5 km. So don’t miss this chance and get yourself a ticket for the caves (below).

Trip Itinerary

09:00 - Departure from Valencia
Please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier at the meeting point: AVENIDA ARAGÓN 31 (In front of Mestalla)
10:00 - Arrival
We are arriving in Alfondeguilla.
10:30 - Start of the hike
We are going to start the hike.
13:00 - Lunch Break
Time to have lunch and gain some energy for the rest of our beautiful route. We already made it to the top!
15:00 / 15:30 - End of the hike
Time to explore the Caves of San Josè (optional).
17:00 - Departure to Valencia
We will head back to Valencia.

Meeting Point: Avenida Aragón 31 (In front of Mestalla)
