Culla & Ares del Maestrat

Culla & Ares del Maestrat

Culla & Ares del Maestrat

If you are looking for an authentic Spanish village giving you the feeling of walking through a medieval town, you should come with us to Culla. Its old town is declared a Site of Cultural interest and is full of history and tradition. Walking through the streets, you will pass ruins of the castle, churches, restored buildings as well as beautiful plazas.

What makes Culla even more unique is the difference in elevation of the city, ranging between 395m up to 1,121m, where you will find the old town.

You can still feel that this town has a long history. It exists since prehistoric times and was under the Arabian influence until it was sold to the Knights Templar in the 14th century. The Castillo de Culla played a significant role during that time, but unfortunately it was destroyed during the wars in the 19th century. Still, the structure of the fortress forms the town of today, which gives you this medieval feeling.

After our visit of Culla, we seize the chance to explore another beautiful town of the Castellón region: Ares del Maestrat. Enjoy a walk through this charming town and discover the tourist attractions it offers!
