Cueva Tallada & Denia
The famous Cueva Tallada is called like this because it was used as a quarry to extract raw stone (the architecture of Xàbia’s town centre is full of this characteristic stone). In Spanish, the carved or “cut” cave consists of parts flooded by seawater and dry rooms. It is located at the foot of the Montgó and Cabo de San Antonio, within the Natural Park of the Montgó Massif and the Marine Natural Reserve of Cabo de San Antonio. Cova Tallada is about 75 metres wide and has an average height of about 15 metres, although it reaches a maximum height of 40 metres.
