Galicia Trip

5-Days Trip to Galicia

Galicia

Join us on our 5-days trip to beautiful Galicia and discover a marvelous Spanish region full of cultural and natural treasures. Located in the northern part of Spain and surrounded by the sea, this region offers beautiful landscapes, like crystal clear beaches and green mountains.  Besides, Galicia has a deeply rooted, traditional gastronomy which is definitely worth to try. Famous seafood, like “octupus a feira”, barnacles and mussles as well as sweets like the Santiago cake or high-quality wine from Ribeira Sacra or Albariño are some of the culinary delights of Galicia.

Together with us you will discover why people say that this region of Spain is all about history, joy, art and passion.

Santiago de Compostela

Known as the endpoint of the Camino de Santiago, this place attracts many people from all around the world. Strolling through the narrow streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will feel the magic of this special place. The Cathedral and further historical buildings like the Hostal dos Reis, the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares, the Casa do Cabido or the Mercado de Abastos will definitely impress you.

Finisterre

Not far away from Santiago de Compostela we find Finisterre, described as the point where the earth ends. With the seemingly endless Atlantic Ocean in front of us, we will enjoy a sunset we have not seen before.

A Coruña

A Coruña, once being an ancient Celtic settlement, is a place full of history. When you walk through the streets, you will find romanesque ensembles, an Archaeologial and Historical Museum, the Museum of fine Arts, the Palace of the Captaincy General and the Church of Santiago. The most known sight of A Coruña is the imposing Tower of Hercules – possibly the most famous lighthouse in Spain. It is of high importance for the city and is still running.

If you like to try some local delicacies, you will see that fresh seafood, like spider crabs or scallops, is very popular. Besides, you will find empanadas, “lacón con grelos” and “los caldos” as popular dishes.

Vigo

In the Southern part of Galicia we will find Vigo, a city full of innovation and tradition at the same time. Strolling through its streets, you will pass unique monumental works like an Medieval Bridge or the Pazo de San Roque. But you can also enjoy a walk along the beautiful sandy beach and taste the delicious local seafood from the Vigo estatuary, the most important in Galicia and also one of the main ports in Europe. Try octupus á feira, churrasco or Galician empanada!

Isla Cies

The Cies Islands are part of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Galician Atlantic Islands and are known for beautiful beaches, which are perfect for snorkeling. Just imagine yourself sitting on the white sandy beach, enjoying some Galician culinary delights like a famous wine of the Rias Baixas zone!

Pontevedra

Pontevedra is the capital of Rías Baixas and the perfect place to discover the Galician cuisine and of course the locally produced wine, like the famous white wine made of the Albariño (Alvarinho) grapes. Stroll through the streets of the beautiful old town with its impressive buildings, like the Church of San Francisco, the Sanctuary of the Pilgrim, the Basilica of Santa Maria la Mayor or the Museum of Pontevedra.

Isla de Arousa

Only 5,000 people are lucky enough to live in such a beautiful place like the Island of Arousa. Once we are there, we will understand why this island is said to be one of the most wonderful places in Galicia. Embrace the beauty of this nature reserve (declared by the EU) and enjoy a visit of the popular sights and places like Faro de Punta Cabalo, the Mirador O Con do Forno, the Islote Areoso or the Carreirón Natural Park.
