The island of Tabarca is an island in the Mediterranean Sea located about 22 km from the Spanish city of Alicante and about 8 km from the port of Santa Pola. The territory has a very rich history because it went under both Greek and Roman dominations. On the island we will see the village of Tabarca, which in 2019 had only 51 inhabitants, so it is almost a deserted island (without tourists). The climate is simply perfect: temperatures remain high on average even during the winter, which makes Tabarca a paradisiacal destination. We’ll reach the island with a catamaran from Santa Pola and we’ll spend the whole day there, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy different types of activities.

First of all, we suggest you take a swim in the crystalline waters surrounding the island or practice some snorkeling if you can. After this, you can either decide to keep relaxing while tasting some typical food (i.e. Tabarquino rice or caldero), or you can go exploring some of the hidden coves all around. Finally, don’t miss the chance to visit the Lighthouse or “Cala el Francés”, one of the many underwater tunnels of the island – a very unique experience!

Trip Itinerary

08:30 AM Departure from Valencia
Please be 10-15 minutes before in the meeting point: AVENIDA ARAGÓN 31 (In front of Mestalla)
11:30 Arrival & Catamaran
Arrival at Santa Pola. On our way, we will make a stop for the bathroom or to change the clothes. Right after the arrival, we will take the catamaran directly.
12:30 Arrival to Isla Tabarca
The island is known for its beautiful beaches where we can snorkel and have a walk through the village and visit the lighthouse and tower.
17:30 Catamaran back to Santa Pola
After spending the whole day in charming streets and beaches we will take the Catamaran back to Santa Pola.
18:30 Going back to Valencia
From Santa Pola we are heading to Valencia
