Murcia & Cartagena

Murcia & Cartagena

Murcia

This city is definitely worth a visit. You will be impressed by one of the symbols of the town, the cathedral of Murcia. Its architecture is a blend of different styles, including baroque, since it took more than one century to finish the cathedral. Murcia is also called “Europe’s orchard” due to its fertile lands around the river Segura and a strong agricultural tradition. So take the chance and get yourself some tasty, regional high-quality fruits or vegetables!

Cartagena

Visit Cartagena, because this place is rich in history! It was just in 1987 when a Roman theatre, built in the 1st century AD, was discovered in Cartagena. Since 2008, you can visit this impressive discovery. Besides, Cartagena is one of the main bases of the Spanish Navy – you will find out why Cartagena’s port plays such an important role in the town’s history. And if that is not enough to discover, you can also visit Cartagenas Moorish castle or take some photos of the ruins of a 13th-century cathedral.
