This small winery dates back to 1916, when it was formed by a group of winegrowers to produce their wines. Antonio Arráez acquired the winery in 1950, and founded Bodegas Arráez. The company is currently in its third generation and in a time of change towards more modern wines without losing its character. This is possible due to new winemaking techniques, careful care of the vineyards, and the long tradition and experience of the family.
Almansa got its name from the Arabic language, and means ”the middle of the road”. One of the main attractions in this city is the Castle of Almansa, that dates back to the 14th century. It is also a part of the Camino de Santiago, since two its routes cross in the city. From the east comes the Camono e Levanet, and from the south the Camino de la Lana. The latter connects Burgos and Alicante, and the former links Zamora and Valencia.
