Selva Irati

Autumn is coming, and Selva Irati turns into a magical place, as if you were in a fairy tale.

Many call it the Magic Forest of the Pyrenees because of its magical colors: in summer it becomes green, in winter it turns to snow white, and in autumn when the leaves turn dyed ocher and gold it looks like a red carpet.

The photos look like a mysterious painting, thanks to the play of the light and the mist that crosses the whole forest.

Selva Irati is the second largest beech forest in Europe with its more than 17,000 hectares of virgin forest in the Navarre Pyrenees, with rivers, waterfalls, caves, gorges, viewpoints, and the most spectacular suspension bridges you have ever seen in your life.

The valleys of Aezkoa and Salazar, where there are three natural reserves, the integral reserve of Lizardoia, the natural reserve of Mendilatz and Truistibartea.

During our trip we make two hiking routes in SALAZAR VALLEY and AEZKOA VALLEY.

Tudela Bardenas Reales

Have you ever imagined yourself in Western movies or walking on Planet Mars? Because this place is like being in a real Western movie or being on the Planet Mars.

It is not a coincidence that Las Bardenas Reales is declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO.

You can visit it by bus or take a 4×4 or Segway route (optional activities). 

Salazar Valley

The Salazar valley is special mixture of architecture, art, nature, history and cultures, traditions, gastronomy.

Beautiful villages such as Escaroz, Esparza de Salazar, Ochagavia can be found along the river Salazar, Urbeltza and Urtxuria, natural areas such as the peak of Orhi, 2000 meters.

Aezkova Valley

12,000 hectares of forest with the Irati forest, hidden caves, dolmens and many more are part of the hallmarks of this valley that gives home to nine villages. Among them is the highest of Navarra and the balcony of Aezkoa.

Ochagavía

This is like a fantasy village in the Region of Navarra, in the Pyrenees, and one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. This village is a must see while visiting Selva Irati.
If you are a fan of photography or you are an instagram influencer, you cannot miss this village! We recommend to take photos in the afternoon because the village is even more beautiful in the afternoon lights.

Pamplona

Pamplona is the capital of the Region Navarra, which was a medieval city that was formed by three burghs: the Navarrería, San Cernin and the town of San Nicolás. Today with four million square meters of parks and gardens make it one of the largest “green cities” in Europe. Pamplona is a quiet city with emblematic streets marked by the Sanfermines and the Camino de Santiago.
We will sleep 2 nights in a 3* hotel in this beautiful city.

Brief trip itinerary

Saturday 29/10
We will leave very early in the morning. We go to the desert of BARDENAS REALES (Natural Park of 42,500 hectares, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO). We will stop for 4 hours so you can enjoy the desert and the town of Tudela. We will have lunch there and leave for Pamplona, where we have our 3* hotel for 3 nights. We will arrive around 18:00 and the rest of the day we will enjoy Pamplona.
Sunday 30/10
We wake up in the morning, have breakfast and set off on a very nice 15 km easy medium level route (with lakes and waterfalls in the Salazar valley). After the route we visit Ochagavía and around 19:00 we return to Pamplona.
Monday 31/10
After the breakfast, we will have a guided tour of Pamplona and have lunch in the city. At 3pm, we will leave to Castillo de Olite, one of top 5 castle of the all Spain. For the evening, Haloween party organised by us.
Tuesday 1/11
Itinerary ContenWe wake up, have breakfast and go out to make a very nice route of 11 kms easy-medium level (Details below) in the valley of Aezkoa. Then, after the route we leave to return to Valencia.t

COVID-19 Safety Measures:

In order to travel and enjoy safely we will have to follow these protocols to travel with VLE / CoAcad. First of all, if you feel some symptoms like fever / cough / respiratory problem you should not participate to the trip. Use of a mask will be mandatory at all times on the bus. Do not print a ticket to avoid handling paper, show us the QR code on your mobile or just tell us your name and surname. During the guided tour everybody will wear the mask.

Cancellation policy of the trip to Selva Irati Up to 3 weeks (21 days) before the refund of 80% of the total amount Up to 2 weeks before (14 days) (60% of the total amount) Up to 10 days before 50% of the total amount. After 10 days, we cannot refund any money unless it is due to government restrictions. If you are late to the meeting point, we will not refund your money and you will lose it, The program is designed with a lot of experience and guides but there may be changes due to traffic, weather or a better alternative (we will inform you by mail and WhatsApp group). The amount of the reservation and the activities are not refundable.
