TIE (Foreign Identity Card)

The TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) is the physical residence card for non-EU citizens staying in Spain for more than 6 months.

It is required for:

• Legal residence in Spain
• Access to public services such as healthcare
• Proof of identity and immigration status

The TIE is issued at the Immigration Police offices in Valencia.

Comisaría de Policía – Calle Bailén, 9, 46007 Valencia
(Main office for NIE and foreigner procedures)

Steps:

• Fill in form EX-17
• Book fingerprint appointment (toma de huellas)
• Bring passport, visa/residence approval, photos, and proof of address
• Attend appointment for fingerprints
• Collect the TIE card once issued
