San José Caves (Cuevas de San José)
In the heart of the Sierra de Espadan Natural Park flows the longest navigable underground river in Europe! The San José River creates a unique natural cave known as the Caves of San José. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Caves of San José are one of the most surprising natural wonders in the Valencian Community. Inside, cave paintings from the Upper Paleolithic era have been discovered! Travel back in time as you paddle through the calm waters of the river, listening to the echo of the underground lagoon in this stunning landscape.
