San José Caves & Peñíscola

San José Caves (Cuevas de San José)
Nestled in the heart of the Sierra de Espadan Natural Park, the San José Caves are one of the most fascinating natural attractions in the Valencian Community. Home to Europe’s longest navigable underground river, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an unforgettable experience. Paddle through the serene waters of the San José River, surrounded by awe-inspiring rock formations and the quiet echoes of the underground lagoon. Marvel at prehistoric cave paintings dating back to the Upper Paleolithic era, connecting you to a distant past. Whether you’re a nature lover or history enthusiast, a visit to the Caves of San José is a must for expats exploring the region’s hidden gems.

Peñiscola: A Charming Seaside Escape
Peñiscola, voted Spain’s most beautiful town, is the perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Its medieval old town is a maze of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses, all with a view of the crystal-clear sea. Explore the impressive Templar Castle of Papa Luna, perched atop a hill, and enjoy panoramic views of the bay. For fans of history and cinema, Peñiscola also offers a chance to step into iconic filming locations from Game of Thrones and El Cid. Whether you’re seeking relaxation on stunning beaches or a dive into rich history, Peñiscola is a must-visit destination for expats in Spain.
